The Echo chamber dilemmaThe promise of the Internet was that unlimited information and experiences would draw us together. But instead it seems to have driven us apart.
For years I've observed this behavior but haven't been able to vocalize it correctly. Originally I called the behavior of collective opinions as "the hive mentality" of the Internet. But that wasn't exactly right and I often got called out on it. The most prominent example was when I made a comic about a guy disagreeing with opinions and being shouted at till he remained quiet, eventually fading into the background with everyone else. The consensus of that comic was that if you disagree with someone you aren't bullied into not speaking, but instead are free to go someplace else where people who do agree with you exist. And you know what? That wasn't what i was trying to convey, but is sadly true. The Internet is not a hive mind. It's many tiny pocket echo chambers of mutual agreements.

FOR FUCKS SAKE. honestly, this is the third journal i've done about this but seriously, im SOOOOO tired of sluttty fucking girls posting pictures and getting like 3000 views! for having their tits out on a camera phone, guys stop thinking with your dicks! this an ART site not a porn site. some people have amazing artwork and get no recognition because people are to busy gawking at these girls who have their camera phone pictures up. its starting to make me reallly frustrated. today was the first time i commented on a photo, outwardly stating what i thought of the unnecessary sluttyness and how its not artist at all. ugh. anyways, i needed to rant, i hope everyone is doing lovely! i know other then that im doing awesome! going to makeup school is the bestt!!!!!

oh and if any of you girls out there are reading this or posting the pictures im talking about, just stop it, you may think guys and people in general respect you because you get lots of views or they say you look sexy. the only thing the like about you is your tits or pussy. and after that, your just another face. so if your gonna take some naked pictures, get a good camera,some awesome lighting, editing and put some thought into it! we appreciate thought and adding artistic twists to things! dont use your mirror or phone for pictures, and if you really need to, post em on a porn site, not here. thanks!

What I find even more disturbing is that you can't even report that shit anymore. It has to be more "graphic" in order to qualify as porn. Complete bullshit. D.A. has definitely dropped it's standards as far as that crap goes.
